In October 2009 Hannah Campion will take over the Sandford Goudie Gallery with her drawings, paintings and installation. Campion’s practice has evolved through her investigations of architectural details, inconsequential objects and natural surface interventions. Paintings appear to escape from the traditional canvas surface and challenge their assumed edges leading instinctively to the investigation of other spaces, planes and materials.
Campion’s
site specific installation for Sandford Goudie will challenge, influence and
occupy both pictorial and ‘real’ space. Utilising marks and forms to
direct the viewer’s eye and body, the spaces in this exhibition can be entered
and explored both physically and optically.
